In 1998, at the tender age of 18, he dedicated his life to Christ. For the next 9 years, he made the personal choice to serve the body of Christ at his father’s church by assisting in whatever capacity his father needed – lifting offerings, leading praise and worship, teaching Sunday school, picking up people for church, etc. In 2007, God told his father “you have carried him [Micah] as far as you can.” He was released from his father’s church and connected with Bishop Otis Lockett, Sr., of Evangel Fellowship COGIC.
He joined Evangel Fellowship in July 2007. Since joining he has sought to accept, assist, and appreciate the vision of the ministry – “providing biblical solutions to promote personal success in life, family, and work,” – within the context of discipleship. He initially began volunteering to clean the church and serving as an alter minster. He was delegated authority to lead the alter ministry team once a month and eventually was elevated to lead the entire alter ministry – growing it from 8 volunteers to over 30 volunteers. He has worked tirelessly to help nurture several other ministries, including but not limited to the Singles Ministry, the Encounter Ministry, The Journey, the Evangelistic Team, and two small groups. He was also appointed by Pastor Lockett to serve as board member of Evangel’s first medical clinic.
Pastor Huggins has completed a host of trainings – including the School of Disciples (2009), and the School of Prayer (2007). Bishop Otis Lockett, Sr. and Pastor Otis Lockett Jr. confirmed and nurtured his call to ministry. Under the leadership of Pastor Otis Lockett Jr., he was ordained as an elder in 2016. In his capacity as elder, he has helped to perform several baby dedications, baptisms, marriage ceremonies, and funerals. He was recently appointed and commissioned to start this church, in Clemmons, North Carolina.
Pastor Huggins has been married to First Lady Lauren Huggins for 6 years. They have two beautiful children – Abigail and Aiden Huggins. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and his Juris Doctorate from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He owns Huggins Law Firm, in Greensboro, North Carolina, a law practice dedicated to criminal defense and civil litigation. Outside of ministry and work, Pastor Huggins’ other talents and interests can also be found in acting, modeling, reading and running. Pastor Huggins signed with Directions USA Model and Talent Agency back in 1999 and has been with them ever since.
For well over twenty years, Pastor Micah Huggins has served the body of Christ in various capacities. Through church, as a minister. Through family, as a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. And through his career, as an attorney and actor. He is honored by God’s call, and eager to serve the people of Clemmons, North Carolina![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
